Kidney disease has shaped my family across generations. What has defined us is how we moved through it — in partnership, perseverance, and motion. Years ago, my father began dialysis but chose to discontinue treatment after two treatments. At that time, education and innovation were not what they are today. Two decades later, when my mother required dialysis, she embraced it with courage and dignity. For seventeen years, she showed our family that treatment was not surrender — it was survival, commitment, and partnership. Her example became my blueprint.
